There are phrases that have the tendency to be used over and over to win the attention of the opposite sex. The belief that flirting will conclude positively is an endless journey that will categorize your position as the comedic friend, that when one decides to act upon a certain dimension, the response tears away the
confidence and self-esteem. But this is beside the whole point of dating, or wanting to find the perfect person for someone.
Is that possible? Wouldn't that mean that the absolute relationship should have happened the moment they met eyes. But wait! There is the possibility that two individuals could be magnetized by the fate that brought them to be in the same place, at that point in time. True love was designed to believe that there is hope. I believe in hope. For those souls who discover that they are destined to be with the right person from that instance.
We, as humans, have an invisible shield that keeps us from falling for the wrong one's. Although, sometimes we interact with someone that can unlock the barriers, realizing Cupid has shot an agonizing arrow. These 'keyholders' could appear at any point in one's life, when you least expect, when you can't help but feel
so vulnerable that anyone could be the next person.
When attraction enters my life, my barriers are unlocked and open to the world. On the other hand, this approach may be the wrong one. The mystery about my life could
lead into something most approving. My characteristics are transparent. I don't have anything to hide. If a question is brought up, I'll answer with truth and
respect. At times, when I feel the need to keep in a piece of my puzzle, I will withstand.
Make like Dean Martin and sing with me..."You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You."
I want to believe that there is someone out there for me. I don't look. God knows I don't look. The one for me is out there. The one for you is out there too. You
too, you'll find her. Some of the cliches that are crap are:
"Love happens when you least expect it."
Meaning: If you stop attempting, it won't jump in front of you. Nothing happens when nothing is done.
"Let it go. If it comes back again, it's meant to be."
Meaning: Ha! Are you serious? If it didn't work the first time, what makes you think it'll work the second, or the third. I guess this is where hope comes in.
"He/She promised they wouldn't cheat on me again."
Meaning: ... (I'm kidding. I just hear this from a bunch of my friends, and Ya'll never listen to me. Stupid!!!
"The love of your life is right in front of you."
Meaning: If they are, you don't need to open eyes, they just need to make a better impression on you.
***Disclaimer: This is opinion only. My pov is always open for pros or cons.
On a happier note, Happy Independence Day. I say this a lot, but, the only reason we use fireworks on the 4th is to open my Birthday with a BANG! Bangggg-A-Ranggg!
I'll admit it, I'm turning 26, not 21 plus 5!
note: At Ulo's house, 3:57am. Entered with You Got Served and concluded the video evening with Hitch. The script writer is a romantic. Such
words. Good night!

Sayings
You can love someone forever, but love changes. love isn't a one road definition. - josh.gumbi
Until Tuesday.
People have always told me that I wasn't a certain person's type. How can someone other than the actual person tell me I'm not there type? For those of you who keep up with me, my attraction towards others was always too analytical. This time, I need to play it cool. Who knows? She's probably just being friendly like she was way back when. I've always been the type to keep hope alive. I am all about hope. Hope sucks!!! So, until Tuesday.

In An Instant...
My emotions could change in an instant. It could be the influence of watching another sappy love movie. At the moment, 50 First Dates is showing on 559 HBOCM. Adamn Sandler is still a hilarious angry person. Memory is the one thing that a lot of people take for granted. When we are reintroduced to some people and we stay quiet about not knowing who they are, it gives you an uncomfortable feeling. In that case, there is no guilt in forgetting someone, even if it is family. Within that instant, there shouldn't be a reason for the situation to go sour.
My emotions could change in an instant. Laughter can overcome all influences of negative feelings. After watching a sappy love/hate movie, my eyes are cast upon an episode of Friends. Comedy is my cure to it all. The moment something occurs, my smile enlarges into an instant "lol".
My emotions could change in an instant. My control to click on certain links seems to fade out. The information I read could turn to the worst. Blah.
I'll be back...

Just Rambling On...
Driving down to the same destination has become a joyous routine. Living in San Francisco has really become a common ground to just relax. It's my way of getting away. I could sit in my room and find sanctuary there. Watching television, especially Giant's baseball, does keep me company, but practicing my banduria is so much better. Practicing everyday at something does make a huge difference. I love it. I do feel bad for Major and Steven because they aren't able to move on with the music. That's the importance of making every practice, so everyone is keeping up to the speed of everyone else. They actually told me I was ahead of the teaching schedule. Yay! I know Pandanggo Sa Ilaw! Yethhhhhsss.
While in the hot summer heat, the boys and I decided to go eat at Cluck U's yesterday. But first, my assistance is needed once again in my somewhat art in Philippine cultural dance. The other day Donnell and Allen call me while I was having a Cinnabon lunch dessert with Ale (Super Yum). Usually I enjoy the fact that friends would call to ask me to hangout, unfortunately I was pushed into the call that asks for something. But of course, my acceptance for the request is reassured because helping out is me. Teaching and choreographing brings out the best in me. The ability to see your own creation is a thrill and achievement. Try it.
As for dinner with the boys, the six of us got either the mild or traditional style dozen wings, which was delicious and not so hot. Sitting next to the window has its disappointments though. While chewing, my eyes focus on some high school senior/incoming freshmen type kids drinking and spewing water against a wall outside. The gross part was that they had no shame. Yeah they were outside and away from other customers, but there's no need to over react. We all know the wings are hot, no need to get too hysterical over it. Take it like a man!
Side track...
- Ulo: hope you did well on your midterm/quiz and keep up the good work with the website.
- Gerstein: studying early for your final Friday is useful. Keep it up.
- Lil Frances: although we spoke about the end of your summer class, so you work out and be a lazy bum.
- Ale: i don't know what to say.
- Bubbles: thanks for the interesting, yet super long talk last night, it was fulfilling.
- Rhia: get the A in class AND attendance, Ok?
- Mark: i will never let you or anyone EVER ruin my birthday.
- Val: Tuesday is my birthday. Thanks for forgetting. Pppppbbbbbtttttt.
- Reyna: you done being grouchy about THAT whole situation. YOU OWE ME DINNER.
- Ted: Green Towel.
- AnDREa: i can do more than straighten your hair.
- Ginabina: even though we talk only when you're driving to Jun's, I appreciate the hour long drive you make.
- Camillay: I'm winning 10-6. We still going for Mitchell's ice cream. Mmmm.
- Northside: before your greatness, I was there. during your hardships, I am here.
-- Grandma: have a speedy recovery. I love you. Plus, Giants won AND A's actually won. Haha! Yay!
The more time spent with individuals opens up my friendship to them. The hardest part about my handful of privileged friends is that...no, this type of topic is a more one-to-one verbal expression. But I will say this, thank you for listening. Even though I constantly talk about my heartaches, my headaches, and my personal issues, sometimes it's good that there's someone to listen and express their opinion openly with me.
There's always a time in someone's life when they just want it all to end and start anew.
A particular cliche came up while conversating with T-Bubs last night. There's the line that says, "...and I enjoy long walks on the beach." I immediately debated with that issue. Well, I just mentioned that if the sun was going down, why would you be walking on the beach still. I'd rather lay a beach towel down, sit back and wrap my arms around you, and watch the sun slowly distinguish into the ocean. Wishful thinking, but perhaps. With that, I head to bed.

Seizing the moment
We must all believe that anything is possible. The demand for happiness grows more everyday. No one knows what goes through someone's mind, how much they feel trapped, the shadows that cover us all. Even when someone listens, the truth is never fully revealed. There is always something not said, held back, and shadowed. How do I know? I am one of these.
I want to be happy, but not at the expense of someone's unhappiness.
In other areas of the world, I want to seize the moment.
Out of all the times to watch G4tv, Cinematech was on. The video that I found appealing was Socom 3. The graphics seemed the same, although, new missions. But who cares about the missions, I'm ready for online play. August will bring the rebirth of barrelman. I wonder if I'll team up with B.M.P. I've only seen reckanoize, nosk1, gtek, die trying, vesperado, and cantot_boy. I'm only playing. Unfortunately, they played while I was unable to. Suckers! No wonder you guys lost.
My favorite 5 songs to date:
I'll Be Here Awhile - 311
Go Daddy-O - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Listening To Astrud - Julie Plug
Spend My Life With You - Eric Benet & Tamia
Faint - Linkin Park
I've decided to add a few things to my joshgumbi.com site again. Most likely I'll be working on html and java again, and maybe a little flash. I want to be able to post my pictures and videos like jerry's site. My blogs will definitely stay on blogger, but my other information will move to a better place.
note: Wow. Giants lost 0-16.

Headaches suck!!!
The whole trip home was THUMP THUMP THUMP between the eyes and temples. No more champagne. At least it wasn't wine. Wine makes me sleepy. Sleepy would make me fall asleep. I had 2 pain relievers with me, but that would be stupid to take them while driving. The side effects of drugs could cause accidents of minor, major, or fatal consequences. The pain actually kept me awake. I'm drowsy now, sleep is my cure. Blah. I have work in the morning.
Congratulations again to all newlyweds and to those who are now engaged.

Lately I had this strangest...
...thought. It's the month of the Cancer. I know a lot of June/July babies, yet I'm unsure of any close one's. In that case, I'm an odd ball and no one else has my birthday horoscope. Bleh.
Nothing to update about my life so far. Just been working and sleeping. Just want to say congratulations to my e-dub roomie Geoff and his soon to be wife, Gemma, on a happy marriage. There have been many weddings this summer, this month of June.
Quote: "You look like E.T." - Shaolin Soccer
Yay for those of you who are going to my birthday Giant's game. If not, call me up and we could arrange a birthday date. It'll be fun.

Before My Dreams...
Sometimes writing can also soothe my mind into thinking too much. Realizing that my grandma is in the hospital isn't new to me. She was there once, she got better. She's there again, she's doing well. Knowing she's in a place of safety calms me.
-ironically-
Being in a hospital scares me. I fear the presence of pain, misery, loneliness, isolation, and depression. I don't know where my trauma comes from. There have always been the few times when I would be going there to visit family, which wasn't a matter to worry much about. The longer she's in there, the more I think about it. The longer I worry about her health and wonder if she'll be coming home sooner or later. As long as she has her baseball, she'll rest and recover with her sports...
...blah.

Music fills my soul...
Whenever I'm typing, it is like I'm playing music. As a child, I used to spend a lot time in front of the piano. Playing each sound one by one just to hear the sound fluctuate into a complete note. The difference between a piano and a computer keyboard is just the sound pattern of each push of the button. You can either set your own rhythm, or distinguish the background beat of what you're listening to. I love music. I love moving to the sounds of beats, patterns, and chords. Making the sounds that people listen to is my passion. I've always found Vesper's originals as artistic masterpieces, even though he constantly changes, but what composer doesn't. For almost a decade, my calling has finally arrived. The moment my ears heard the vibrating sounds of the bandurria, I wanted to play it. Unfortunately, at the time, I didn't have enough connections. For a month now, I look forward to my Wednesday practices with the rondalla. The first practice was practically tuning our instruments and learning the fingering. My dream is coming true. Unfortunately, some of my dreams are also nightmares. On the bright side, some dreams are fantasies too.
My recurring dreams of zombies has come back again. Although, with all these movies about zombies and the undead, my nightmares are turning into things I can bare with. There is a new twist in these visions however. Lately, playing all these flash puzzles have put my thoughts constantly on the game. Even in my dreams, I'm doing trivia. But, puzzles and zombies develop a new storyline. Bleh. Five nights straight could really make you believe that something is really going on in your life. What do these dreams mean? I don't know. I won't lose sleep over it though.
Two dreams have been quite pleasant. One was set with a particular friend. We were having a conversation when suddenly she started crying. I wasn't entirely sure, but I wasn't sure how to comfort her. The next thing you see is her arms around me wiping her tears on my shoulder. Sometimes the only thing you can do is just be there for someone. Watching tears fall from someone's face is unbearable. Tears are contagious. The greatest challenge is keeping strength for the other person's vulnerability. You may wonder why this dream was pleasant. It is because I was able to put aside all and everything to be a friend.
So...my grandma is in the hospital recovering and dealing with tests. I don't know how to feel. I don't want to force feelings upon myself because she's there. She's always been strong, which developed throughout my whole family. I'll stay strong, but I'll be thinking about her constantly. In times like this, I wish I could just say "it happens". Music helps me think about other things.

My guestlist for my birthday is set. 30 tickets, 30 people. Hope no one drops. Helk? It wouldn't be a guestlist if no one dropped.
As for Ocean's 12, the movie was a sophisticated comedy. The jargon was brilliant. The script was a bit tacky because of all the reality bits, but sequels need a bit of dry comedy. My favorite character is still Linus. The thief with such talent, yet no clue. For the first time, I was unable to follow a movie to its fullest. It's fantastic that I needed to watch it twice.
I need a date to watch Les Miserables still. email me: joshgumbi@sbcglobal.net

Missing out...
I miss out on a lot. I missed my cousin's daughter's first birthday. She is so cute. She smiles everytime I pick her up. Even when she falls asleep in my arms, she smacks her lips together and rests her little body. She has the chubbiest cheeks and the most gorgeous eyes. Her smile can melt any boys heart. Thank God she is only 1. (I know a smile that makes me melt)
I missed so many family gatherings because of work. They don't give me enough time to ask for the days off. I don't blame them. I blame myself since I don't really have a career. I'm confused, we move on.
I wanted to do a movie review of Ocean's 12, but...
...my eyes are tired. I'm going to write more tomorrow.

note: Ocean's Twelve rocks.

The problem with reading horoscopes is the reliability on them. I enjoy reading what is to come, but I don't necessarily follow up on them. I've been trying to find my compatible sign out there, Scorpio. I don't really try, I just meet people. Although, how do I find anyone out there when all I do is work and sleep? Who knows? More to come. Need a break...

What I think about...
The thoughts that fill this brain are endless. I can't remember when an idea wasn't interrupted by another pointless notion. As an emotional person, I absorb what comes to me and react unknowingly. There are greater reasons why my opinions can’t simply disappear. We all remember everything that happens to us, big or small.
I think about my future. I endure the fact that my life isn’t going anywhere at the moment. Every day at work I continue to tell myself, “Why the hell am I here?” The stupid reason that I continue to tell myself is that I don’t have enough experience. After sulking and blaming myself for my misfortune, I push myself to believe that my skills will grow more and more if quitting is not the option.
Is my knowledge enough? Are my skills ready to see the outside world? Have I encouraged my mind to believe that better grades will benefit your future career? Is my Bachelor’s degree a waste of time? I find myself believing that I chose the wrong major for myself. I enjoy learning about computers, the software, and the hardware, anything that involves technology. But, there’s that doubt that I dove into the industry. According to my current manager, he sees my potential. Unfortunately, my words are just words and not experience. So, if engineering is believed to be my wrong choice, then what would or should the correct choice be? Mathematics? Teaching? Theatre? Have I lived my life to the fullest? How many times have I told myself that I have? B.S. My life has just started. I’m stupid for thinking that way.
As I take the initiative to improve my chances of finding beneficial employment, I want to make sure that this choice is temporary. It is just experience. I won’t be gone that long, unless I like it there. Everyday, you just have to continue to motivate yourself. Once you reach this point, only you are there for yourself. “I will progress. I have the will.”
In other regions of my cranium, B.M.P. is reaching new heights. As a new business arises, we all make mistakes that we must learn from. Enthusiasm, teamwork, and exposure will guide us to greatness. The skills and the talent surround our circle. We are friends, but we are also a business team. Keep the friendship and the business separate. Within time, we will succeed in integrating the two. With BMP growing, my brain isn’t too occupied.
You take up a part of my thinking process. I think about all the ways I could put a smile on your face. I think about how nervous it would be to hold your hand for the first time. I think about how you’ll reject me. I think about the moment when I'll get to see your eyes stare into mine. I think about that glowing smile that melts my heart. I just think … you are worth the squeeze.
My future grasps the majority of my thoughts. As for this past weekend, congrats and thanks for the invites by the two grads and birthday girl. Ted and Allen, enjoy the beginning of the rest of your life. Happy birthday once again to Andrea on your 22nd birthday, I hope you enjoyed the company of yours truly. You teach your brother the ways.

It happens...
Once again I've slept late and woke up really early. Blah!
I enjoy hearing personal quotes from yesterday:
"Wanna makeout?" - K.L.
"Thank you, have a good (insert time of day)" - G.P. (how polite are you!)
"Bye, Gumbyyyy" - M.G. (haven't heard that name in a long time)
"Go moon boot!" - D.D.
Blockage in the brain.I'll be back. I'm back.
I've noticed that watching certain movies can spark a particular hope that generates in my mind. Although, there is an idea that I've never had the balls to do. To go straight up to a girl and give them that romantic kiss without any warning. Ha! Never going to happen.

Yin left and Yang is taking over...
Believing in myths and sayings have always been brushed off, especially when superstition has a part in it all.
-Dorky humor-
camillay: i have a little brother
joey: that's nice. is he older or younger?
As I was saying, I strongly disagree with superstitions. I will walk under a ladder. I will break a mirror, by accident of course. I will step on the crack because I know my mother's back will not break. Mostly everything is psychological. If you believe it, it will eventually happen. Besides this point, I do believe in What comes around, goes around. I do believe I have been benefiting from some things, but the detrimental aspect hasn't encountered, until now.
On Tuesday morning, I woke up with my common ankle ache, which occurs at least once a year since I snapped it snowboarding. The breakage happened three years ago when I took a bad jump, landing EXTREME and finding out that my snowboard doesn't want to go where my ankle wants it. SNAP SNAP SNAP. Ouch. Fortunately, I didn't break any bones, but I did tear some ligaments. Unfortunately, I have a feeling I slightly tore one of the ligaments last Friday, and since then, I'm aggravating the helk out of my ankle.
On Wednesday morning, my ankle seemed to be healed because I was able to walk upstairs almost regularly. So, at work that day, I walked with small limp, but I was able to do the normal work chores. And then...
Thursday morning was the worst. I couldn't rotate my ankle either way, my toes were frozen because the pain lingered down my foot if I twitched them. I didn't figure out until now why my ankle is causing my immobility. The pain wasn't felt on Wednesday because I took a huge dosage of pain relief medicine before work. I guess while I slept last night, the pain overpowered my left leg. I took a greater amount of pain relief, and I feel great. Tired, woozy, silly, and very numb. *giggle
note: I'm really progressing in my musical talents.

Can't sleep...
I sit in the dark with the light of my laptop shining brightly. I can't sleep. I don't know why. I was sleepy around ten, but now I lay restless. Nearly four hours later, with the television off, I find myself yawning, yet untired. So, with this time, I shall think of something interesting to write about.
hmmm? Here we go...
Writer's block. Dammit.
On sunny days, I enjoy getting to work and leaving work. From the balcony of the parking lot, there is a great view of Lower Pacific Heights and East San Francisco. I once left work and saw fireworks in the distance. I don't know the reason why they were going off, but that didn't matter. I had a good view, yet I didn't hear them going off. When I was kid, I always used to hide from fireworks. There was a time when my family and I went to the County Fair across the Golden Gate Bridge. I forgot the city it was in, but it was fun. San Rafael maybe?
As a kid, I was always afraid of fireworks. As an adult, what am I afraid of?
. . . . . .
I am afraid of wasted time. I believe the post-college years could have been much more beneficial. I've had jobs, but my laziness kept me from gathering something better.
. . . . . .
I am afraid of failure. Maybe I am giving my full potential, I'm not getting to where I should be, or am I.
. . . . . .
I am afraid of moving on. I can possibly endure the experiences that distance could shoot at me, but is that just my mind playing tricks on me.
. . . . . .
I am afraid of responsibility. I grew up thinking older than I was, but now I find myself trying to grasp the youth that I looked passed.
. . . . . .
I am afraid of losing my friends and family. I am molded into the shape I am because of them. Without them, I wouldn't be who I am today. Is that good or bad?
. . . . . .
I am afraid.

Another lyrical entry...
Rockapella
I'll Hear Your Voice - Scott Leonard
And now that we've reached the end,
I think of all that's passed
of how the time that went so fast
and of how I've come to depend
upon the faith I feel inside your guiding hands
Say you'll go with me forever, though I know that you can't
Well I ain't much with words
There's nothin' I could say that you ain't heard
But I promise you that each and every day
I'll hear your voice
In every thought that flows through my mind
I'll see your face
In every cloud that floats through my sky
And when the world is too much
and the hurt's got me down on my knees to pray
I'll hear your voice
and you won't be so far away
Do you remember a moonless night?
With only sound for a view,
funny what an ocean can do
It was then that we knew this was right,
and that the arms we shared we'd share so many nights
Say you'll go with me wherever, even though I know it's just a dream
Though I know it's unknown,
It's something that I gotta do alone
But I swear to you I could never do anything without your soul inside
I'll hear your voice
In every thought that flows through my mind
I'll see your face
In every cloud that floats through my sky
And when the world is too much
and the hurt's got me down on my knees to pray
I'll hear your voice
and you won't be so far away
Someday I'll hold you, and we will be sailin'
and I will never have to say goodbye again
Til then, til that day
I'll hear your voice, and you won't be so far away.

Waking up early before work...
I'd like to be able to wake up when the alarm on my phone goes off. Unfortunately, I always set my alarm earlier than the average person. Even on day-offs I set my alarm to wake up early. Like I may have said before, sunlight gives me energy. Darkness surrounds me from full potential; whatever that means. In other words, I get more done during the day than at night. Back to the topic, I get up nearly an hour, two hours before I work. Even when I sleep at the condo, I wake up early. Blah.

Creating creative arts...
I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. From 1998 to 2001, I danced and performed with Barangay SF. In that time, I probably learned a total of twenty-five dances. And with those dances, I only remember only ten of them. My life has been full of the performing arts. I've done the singing group thing and when that ended, I started my theatre arts era. Actually, my last year in high school I took the theatre class that I found very appealing. I learned stage direction, placement, script writing, and lighting. My backstage presence was astonishing, but my acting skills were poor.
Every couple of months I receive an email from Barangay about practices. Everytime there was practice I was either working or busy. Oh well! I just happened to be free last night and this morning. Last night, we learned two dances from the Moro Suite, before known as Muslim Suite. Next friday, we're going to be doing the Barrio Suite, also known as Rural. This morning I was given a special opportunity to finally learn to play my banduria. Unfortunately, I don't have a banduria, it's a bandilla (I think). I have the 12 string, not the 14 string. It'll still work though. Yay! So, in matter of a few months, Barangay will have an orchestra of stringed instruments. My reaction when I started playing a tuned banduria was a great and fulfilling experience. I love music, I love dance, I love art.

The most boring days start with...
...having a fellow boring person with you.
The plan was made. The only part that failed was timing. I don't usually write about my day, but this is one exception. I'll try my best to keep this story short. Let's just say that spending a whole day with someone like you was a pleasure.
THE PLAN
8am - wake up.
9am - pick up Ale in Daly City.
915am - leave for San Jose with Ale.
10am - hook up with Ted.
1030am - arrive at Manpower.
12noon - leave Manpower to eat lunch at Peninsula.
1230pm - lunch
2pm to 10pm - rest and relaxation in San Jose.
11pm - drop off Ale in Daly City.
3 GOALS FOR THE DAY
1. apply at Manpower.
2. Peninsula milkshake.
3. *secret naman.
INSTEAD
8am - wake up.
915am - got to Ale's house and worked on resumes.
10am - left for San Jose.
11am - 119 so Ale can change.
1130am - Ulo's house to work on Ale's cover letter.
1240pm - arrived at Manpower. (Goal 1)
130pm - left Manpower.
145pm - 119 so Ale can change...AGAIN. (Goal 3)
210pm - picked up Tawny and went to eat at Peninsula (Goal 2)
415pm - basog.
5pm - dropped off Gail's reimbursement.
530pm to 8pm - Tawny's house.
8pm to 10pm - Paseo and attempted to find a place to eat.
10pm to 12midnight - Denny's.
1250am - dropped off Ale at home. (SORRY)
It is possible that someone can truly be just friends with the opposite sex. Maybe it helps that I think of you as another guy. You "talk" like a guy. You behave like a guy. You must obviously be a guy. Now I'm being mean. Better yet, you behave like a guy in a woman's body. On the other hand, you are pretty. Arse better appreciate what he's got.
note: more later.

Tired. Yawning. Sneezing. Zzzz.
Even though I've only worked my scheduled shift, I still get 3 days off this week. Yay! I worked Monday and received holiday pay. I had a small discussion with my manager, Sid, today. I humored him by keeping up with his little conversation. I was trying to finish up my lunch, then suddenly he starts asking me all these questions about my work ethic. He asked me if I would ever be involved in management. I told him, "Of course, but not now." I never saw myself working management in retail. I still don't. I don't want to. Selfishly, I deserve more money. We all do. The only way I can cash in is to seek what I've been educated to do. We shall see.
I'm tired and my body is weak. I'll be getting up early to head on over to Manpower. Good luck to me.
napping.

Famous for my dorky humor...
listening to my favorite Spanish dance: Habanera Botolena -wedding dance
:scenario:
BG cell phone rings
As JOEY, 25, browses his porn on his laptop, he is alarmed by the ring from his phone. ALE, recently 22, attempts to get a hold of Joey.
JOEY(answers phone with clear voice)
Hi. You've reached Joey's phone. Please leave your name, number, and the time you called and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Ale waits for the beep from the voicemail to sound. After a good five seconds, Joey begins to softly giggle.
ALE
You're such a dork.
Ale is victim #1 of Joey's stupid humor.
Earlier I went to visit Edison to attempt to burn a copy of a movie and play around with his G4. After two tries, we were unsuccessful. The funny part was going to his living room and pushing the eject button on his dvd-tv. When I pushed the button, the button stayed in the tv. Oh no! Edison gets a screwdriver and tries to unlatch the button from the tv's grasp. Unfortunately, he pushes the button into the tv even more making me laugh hysterically. Laughing is what we do best.
According to my work environment, I'm getting to the edge where if I work at OD any longer, I'll burn the place down. Fortunately for them, I'm not that crazy. Hopefully by Thursday, I'll be able to sign up at Manpower. And then from there, I can rely on those folks to find me a better paying job. I'd like to stay at OD, as a weekend dweller, and so I can get a furniture for cheap. Yes!!!
Lately, I've been waiting for something which I shouldn't be. So, from now on, I shall live everyday as the 4th. Ha! Besides that, I don't usually wait for anything. If something is available, I'll go for it. Not spontaneously, but in a mild manner where if the timing consists of the moons aligning (sarcastic), then courage builds inside me and says, "You can do it!" I shall continue to work and make money to build up for my future. I shall gain any experience from any of the events that pass my way. I shall enjoy the life I've been given. I shall continue to grow as a person. I'm only 25.
note: flowers are nice, but chocolate is much better.

Topics, topics, topics
After two years, I finally had time to watch my brother's copy of The Ninong. The downside about watching the video was no sound. The tape also had his copy of my Pil-Grad, once again, no sound. I enjoy being on stage. Performing with the bright lights down on me was and will always be a great feeling. My brother didn't realize that I wrote the script that year, so he only recorded the scenes and dances I was in. Blah.
What type of skills apply to this business venture? I don't really know. Please guys, if there's something I can do, let me know. When talking with a few of you one on one, my best ideas come out. Unfortunately, I'm unable to do anything from where I stand. So, bottomline is, if I'm unable to find a place, make it happen, make it succeed, make it great. You will always have my support.
Friends come and go, but bestfriends stick by you even when you lack the ability to see or hear from one another. Bestfriends know they could tell you anything, even if it hurts like hell, because the words come from the heart, and you know they only look out for you. If I could live on an island with a handful of people, they would be the most abnormal people. I would need them to be complete strangers. Although, if I had to choose my handful, Tediocarm, Kathleen, Alexis, Edison, and Reyna.
So, the other day, Edcay and I went on a journey. His co-worker asked him to serve someone. It was hilarious because he was trying to be all serious, but, being us, we just couldn't stop laughing. Unfortunately, his co-worker's wife wasn't home. Oh well. While he did his thing, I sat in his car and waited for him to run back to the car with a white girl chasing after him with a butcher's knife. Just kidding. The same night I decided to purchase Next Phaze's short album at Tower Records. Much support for ya'll and the rest of the filipino artists out there, especially Barrelman Productions.
note: San Jose made me gain 10lbs.

The first time we met... (updated:6/7) *this entry will be ongoing on myspace.
I didn't sign up to do the fundraiser because of class. Although, it was early for class and Ate Cheryl was sitting alone at the time. We sat and discussed the individuals who would be helping out with the concert at the Event Center. The only information about you was that you wore hats all the time. Mark didn't inform us greatly about what the heck you looked like, except for the hat and glasses. Cheryl and I just kept guessing the person with a hat was you. Who are you?
It was choir practice the year I was lighting director. It was one of my rare visits to go see all of you sing. I believe this was the first time I introduced myself to you and the girls. All I remember was that I knew the names, just not the faces. Who are you?
Sitting at the table and you were walking with two other gentlemen. You can already assume who these guys were. Everytime I saw you, you were walking with them. You constantly asked what the deal was with any type of practices. I remembered you only because you kept asking the same question. Who are you?
The first general meeting was finishing up and I got out of my class. At the time, I hardly knew the person who introduced us. I told you my name, you smiled. In my mind I thought, she's cute, yet she must be a freshmen. That smile still sticks in my head to this day. Who are you?
When I was nominated fundraiser, I was told you would help me. A couple days later, you came up to me and introduced yourself to me. Not being too experienced with Akbayan at the time, I accepted whatever you had to offer. Although not much, I appreciate your input. Maybe I should have kissed you that night I walked you home. Who are you?
My brother actually knew you at the time. We went to your work at Serramonte, so my brother could get a discount on some clothes at your store. I actually didn't realize you were the same guy that brought us to Pure Harmony's auditions. Who are you?
You were at his birthday dinner at City Beach. While I sat, I noticed you around the way. I asked a friend what he thought about you. Later that night, another friend played cupid and we danced. Who are you?
I played with your monkey head. I didn't know your name yet, but I asked if I could play with your toy. Too bad it broke. Who are you?
You came up to the front table to inquire about PCN. I had no idea the knowledge you had about dances. I think the main thing I remember was walking you back to the dorms. I should have "hollered". Ha! You look better with glasses...nerd. Who are you?
We all went to Leighton's apartment to sing kareoke. You were 15 at the time, and I was still flirting with your cousin. You seemed very shy at that time. Little did I know is that you're opposite of shy. You just needed time to blossom. Who are you?
Oh wow. Who are you? A few friends and I went to go watch a free screening of a movie way back when. I think it was your freshmen year and you were sitting behind us. I just remember seeing you all the time.
Back at Valley West Apartments, you came over with one of your friends. We were left in the kitchen as a ploy to have us be alone. Your eyes caught my attention and we just laughed at the situation. Next thing, you move away. Who are you?
More to come...

Like sitting in the dark could help...
There's such a big difference nowadays. My isolation has constantly gotten the better of me. It not only caught up to me, but it surpassed me and haunts me to such little span. I lost my train of thought.
I will be saying goodbye to myspace blogging and stay with my source.
Old misery putting it on top of my plate which I cannot eat. Sending out resumes trying to find time to visit recruiters and getting no offers is...
I'm tired, I just needed to...
note: Happy Birthday Aivy. Love, me
update: Giants lose 3-5. Sheesh. Happy and sad days.

Before I sleep...
My mind has been very occupied with a lot of self-less thoughts. Thinking about everything that goes on in my life, trying to make the bad days turn to good days, I find myself in a daze. I don't know if sorting out my life is something I need to do since my life already seems straightforward. But, on the other, no one can be completely happy with the life they're given. Perfection is not possible.
I remembered there was a time when thinking was a pleasant feeling. Now I just want to keep busy so I don't have to think about it. The time will eventually come if you really want it.
note: I need to get away. Away from everyone. Away from myself.

Why do I do what I do?
I need to remember that the world doesn't revolve around one person. My point of view of events will soon lead me to complete over analysis of stupid stuff. Since no one really reads this, I feel comfortable saying what I really feel. I know one person, or two people read this, but I don't mind you guys reading my thoughts. This is what's been over crowding my mind.
A gift was given in order to decrease the number of minutes worrying or wondering what the hell could happen. And now, I'm unsure if doing what I did was the right thing to do. I never know if my decisions are the correct one, especially when I torture myself for nothing. Maybe it's the fact that I'm not completely over my past. Closure was well-known, but that's not the part I'm over. I find myself alone and attempting to fill my life with any somethings. I tried taking up a musical instrument, which was fulfilling for the time being, but now I'm just restless, or just lonely, or maybe I'm just letting my emotions overpower my will to let things go.
I had a good conversation with a certain spontaneous one. For the time we chatted, it felt like "cow bell". You know, a cure. But then she left me in the dark about a blah blah blah. My response to sponny leaving was "YOU SUCK!"
I can't be pcn deprived because I'm immune to it. I enjoyed the time teaching, playing, and stuff, but I was there to help with what I was asked to do.
side note: AHH MAN! The Giants are losing!
From the original topic, I did it, can't take it back, only thing to do is live the life I'm not liking right now. I don't enjoy waking up for work anymore. Time to stay strong and find a frickin' career.

Forwarded messages hurt the most
Waking up early and finding out that an email can make or break your day. The raging fury of testerone was temporarily ahead of me, but then things were going smoothly anyway. Maybe not as smoothly, but shaky with things to work out. The only thing that could've been said was sorry and leave the explanation. We didn't bad side you, but you bad-sided us. All I know is that you disgraced yourself by leaving your students in disarray, assuming that they knew what they were doing.
I can make a whole argument against yours, but I won't. It's not my drama, even though I was the one with the new routine. Although, being it said, the dancers took it upon themselves to even change my routine. They made it harder that its supposed to be. So, that's on them. I apologize to Ver because she didn't seem at all happy about all the changes. So, remember, when you change or alter a routine, you have to think about the other dancers. Maybe you can do it, but can they.
It's past 9am, I got work in an hour, I've got to get ready.
note: there's more to come if you're up to it.

I miss you www.joshgumbi.com
I look out my window and barely see the stars that twinkle every night. The sky is bright purple with mists of cloudy air. I sit in the dark wondering if I've experienced enough to let start a new life. Seriously, after graduation, I expected my enthusiasm towards the "real life" to be better than I've had. Within that time, I've had two mediocre jobs (I said it, jobs, not careers) where I gained experience furthest from my actual major. I wouldn't mind taking advantage of my minor, but my motivation towards my major is losing my grasp. I try and try and try. I used to believe that I was the person that makes things happen. I set a goal and made it happen. With my own emotions deep down inside, I'm breaking up inside. I'm losing hope, I'm losing my self, I'm losing really bad in life. Sometimes it does help when friends tell me they're not doing what they graduated in. Time to just keep looking. I can't lose hope, I can't jump into any conclusion that engineering has no future for me. I remember thinking that killing myself would help start a brand new life, but f#%k, what if I end up in the same situation. That would really suck.
On the brighter side...
My mind has been running constantly lately. When I wake up, at work, at home, before I sleep. I can't let my past push me away from what is really out there.
I'm listening to my itunes library. The song playing is "Never" by Boyz II Men. This song makes me laugh because my old singing group, P.R.I.M.E., actually sang this at Barkada of Santa Clara's first Barrio Fiesta. It was pretty cool to open for Drop 'N Harmony. I recall wearing khaki shorts and Akbayan's '97-'98 shirt. Can you tell that I just loved singing, and didn't care about the appearance.
- Pilipinos Recognized In Musical Excellance -
That was a strange, yet fun experience. I miss singing. I know you miss it too, Edison. I listen to the way I used to sing and the way I sing now. My goodness I've gotten a lot better. Breathing, range, style, yet I will never do American Idol. A lot of friends and family tell me to do it. Uh? Of course your family and friends will support you, even if you totally suck. I need my singing to be judged by a biased audience.
Anyway, I remember all of our performances:
Rachel's cotillion (Happy Birthday, Medley, and something else)
Cheryl's cotillion (Happy Birthday, In The Still Of The Night, Medley)
Barrio Fiesta '97 SCU (Never)
SAPhi Showcase '98 (Gone, Medley)
Akbayan's Winter Formal (On Bended Knee)
Extacy '98 UCD (A Song For Mama) *we sounded really good
also...
Jessica's cotillion
Mazie's cotillion
Reina's cotillion
Christine's cotillion
and then I quit...
TO BE MORE INVOLVED WITH SCHOOL...
Ha! Yeah right, I got involved with Akbayan.
I remember when Akbayan choir was only a handful of fellas. You guys have come so far.
note: I work at 8am and I still haven't eaten dinner.

Focus on what's on the next page
If my life was based on a novel, the reader would bookmark the page, close the book, and breathe in the toxic air. I've analyzed the things I've done to get where I am now, and the waiting begins. Everyday I wake up to the beeping of my phone, slide off my futon about an hour before I'm determined to clock into work, and begin the constant routine of real existence.
What I thought 2005 was going to be like has really turned a complete difference of reality? I've fought with depression, relief, sadness, happiness, isolation, and all these other emotions that maybe I was destined to feel out of mere experience. All I can say is, things happen. Not because they have to, but because they just do. We can't stop what's going to happen, no one can control another person's thought, I just live until the day we all must pass.
I take pride in my recent employment because it keeps my mind busy. Downside is that by the end of the workday, my life slumps back down because I just roll onto my bed and sleep, just to await the next exciting life of me. At least I'm no longer living paycheck to paycheck, kinda. I actually have more saved money than ever before. Eventually, I'll find something to spend it on, probably bills.
One thing I do appreciate is friendship. Memories will never distinguish, feelings will slowly subside, and the future will always be open to anything. You are my friend and I appreciate that because I've never had something like this. Thank you.
note: Suicide is for losers!

Let your potential exceed past any failure...
Current sound fantasy: "In the still of the night" - The AKAfellas.
My career could finally be taking on the positive aspect. As much as I've enjoyed working at Office Depot, I need to take hold of what my life is really after. Earlier Tuesday morning, I had a phone appointment with a Palo Alto engineer. Besides the fact that he was forty minutes late calling me, my nerves begin to lessen and the tension decreased because I believe the call was never going to happen. After ten minutes, I thought that the previous phone interview was running long. With a half hour passing by, I started to believe that the engineer looked over my resume and saw my lack of tech-perience(technology experience). Well, if what they want is field work, it seems like I'll never be able to find that direction. Fortunately, forty-six minutes past and my phone began to ring. I jumped from the living room couch, walked nervously to the phone. Within ten minutes, I was getting off the phone with the technical engineer. My blood pressure could have possibly risen that past hours.
After the phone call, I went straight to the kitchen and fixed myself my much needed breakfast. I sat right back down in front of the television, eating my breakfast, watching Sucka Free City(Comcast On-Demand Showtime). The movie is very intriguing, yet the ending leaves you in wonder.
And then the phone rings under an hour later.
"Joel, we would like to set up an appointment for you to do an in-person interview with us."
note: Thanks Jerry for informing me of this job opening.

Waiting for important phone calls...
I'm feeling so nervous right now. In less than 12 hours, I'll be receiving a phone call that may enhance my career status as an SJSU engineer. Even though it is a less than normal technical job, I'm still going to give it my best. Giving my best is what I'm goodGREAT at. Taking into account my attention toward detail, my ongoing motivation to get things done (not to mention get things done right), and working with a team that moves in the same direction. If the phone call is a negative experience, it is my duty to keep up with the resume sending. In the meantime, I have a business management option.

Breaking up is hard to do...
I hate this feeling. I hate being where I am right now. I hate using my strength not to cry. I hate the fact that I can't accept the circumstances. I hate this feeling. I hate this feeling. I HATE THIS FEELING. I hate being so vulnerable. I hate the fact that I put my all and I'm getting only partial. I hate being me.

Orientation Be Gone
I've been working at OD for 2+ months and that feeling of being a beginner ended probably after two weeks at the job. Some of the reasons why is because I was no longer asking anyone questions on where this and that were or are in the store. Instead, some of the stockers that have been there months longer than me have asked me where an item goes. I guess I have my education to take credit for that. I've been through a solid, two decade streak of academics. My brain has been trained to remember, learn, and adapt with what needs to be learned.
One thing I don't like doing at my job is wasting time. Even though this job has nothing to do with my degree, I can still learn from the experience. My motto is: 'Never let experience be a waste". For example, I use my blogspot account as a way to keep up with my grammar and literary skills. Honestly, if you go back and read some of my achives, you will encounter a ton of written mistakes. My vocabulary and word use has expanded too. I don't know if it's just by coincidence or the presence of Babble.
My fellow employees find my presence as a comfort. I don't necessarily find ways to get on their nerves, but I can analyze some of these co-workers, find their faults and work around them. The store manager does remind us that, "You are here to work, not to make friends". Although, everyone has that same OD goal to become reliable workers. We have a staff meeting this Sunday, Superbowl Sunday. It is time for everyone to vent and try and make the OD world a better place to be.
That part of my life has become a great impact on my life, but I still have a non-work type of life. I'm either spending time with family, Babble, or with myself. With Valentine's Day coming up, Babble and I are trying to find a way to top the last two previous, yet 'commercial', occasions. The planning won't be difficult since last year we just stayed home, slept, and spend time together at our place. I miss that apartment, but that's about it.
Is Valentine's Day another day for accessible businesses to make money?
Of course! On February 13th, the condom sales jumps up nearly 93% from any average day. Good job to those who enjoy using protection. Although, the disadvantage about February 14th is the increase of sexually transmitted diseases by 35%. On the upside, the number of one night stands rises exponentially by 300%.*
Are there any decreased statistics about Valentines's Day?
Yes, but nothing really significant to jot down.
[*The following information is not for certain. Polls are brought to you by unauthorized statistics.]
Lastly, OD is selling a task chair for $17.04 (Regular price: $79.99) Is anyone interested? Limited supply. I bought one.

(prepare to read and decipher. this is how I used to write)
As the nights shine as dark as the blindness of the day, I become more aware that I'm going no where in my solitude because of the routine of living by the weekly check. The year shall become the source of something anew. The new year has sprung new job opportunities. The ability to become closer to making my first million will never exist, at this rate at least. I'm happy, but my happiness hasn't reached the potential destined for my stance. I've got the charisma, the love, and the determination to become greatness. I've got the resources, the confidence, and the utmost support. I've got the heart, the youthfulness, and the intrigue to find what the hell I'm looking for. By the way, what the hell am I looking for? I'm looking for pennies that can turn into nickels that turn straight into the bronze dollars.
I want to help out with everything that is set on my plate. I've been labeled as an irritant by the one true existence. I don't blame myself, but I do blame my faults. I shrug in shame, yet I raise in mannerism. I will not taunt my way in the direction of the wrong road, but shine through the shimmers of glowing puzzles. Do I ever make sense when pieces of a dickfore get together? Remember that question, "What's a dickfore?" Funny. I still laugh at that. I want to show my appreciation toward a close friend.
Ulo is my friend. He shelters me when I needed a place to get away to. I took my favorite transportation, BART, to Fremont, where Ulo picked me up. Well, I found myself stuck in San Jose for 24-hours. Also, Ulo, if the $5 for the club wasn't for the tsunami victims, you know damn well I wouldn't have gone. Anyway, we were only there for like, less than 2-hours. Then off to Kathleen's to watch Boys and Girls, while Donell fell asleep. Shoot, who said sitting in front of a 15' television with good company isn't fun. Not me! Funny moment of the night, when Ulo threw a rock at Kathleen's window and landed back onto his car. Cool beans!
I miss San Jose, but not enough to move back. I look at all the advantages, but find myself losing myself in the disadvantages. I don't know what that means. I miss all you Akbayan heads. Enjoy the upcoming semester and P.C.N. 2005. Good luck Alexis.
-(fast forward {Friday evening})-
Waiting for Babble to pick me up at work and found myself looking at the Office Depot catalog book. I looked up speakers, space heaters, and that's about it. I played a game of Freecell on one of the display laptops, and then I got a call from my Babble. She's arrived. So long to my co-workers Kashik, Walter, Dee, Raciel, Betty, Mark, and Den. I skipped on over to Babble and gave her the warmest and dearest hug I could give her. I do love her, I really do. So this is how it feels to love someone that has been distant from you for a month...seemed like years. We tried to eat at our Japanese restaurant, Nagano, unfortunately, we couldn't find parking, so we went to Japantown and ate at Sa...some other Japanese restaurant that we ate at once. It was good, but after Babble dropped me off, I felt nauseated. Bleh! Didn't throw up. Now I'm home about to rest my body to sleep for work is right around the corner, or the sunrise. I'm also waiting for Babble to safely get home from work. Call me Babble. I would like to know you're safe.

The small things count...
I like the way your eyes meet mine when you say "babble". I like the way your head just fits perfectly on my shoulder when we're walking side by side. I like the way your thumb squeezes my hand when we're holding hands. I like blow drying your hair. I like taking care of you when you're sick. I like rubbing your back when you're feeling crappy. I like the reaction you make when my cold hands touch your skin. I like you no matter what happens. And I love you for all the things I like you for. I'm in love.
You're back in my life, physically! Our candle hasn't gone out.
To any reader's out there, buy Killzone, it's a good PS2 game.

Let's leave behind the past year and look forward to the new
First things first, Happy Holidays to everyone who celebrates such a controversial season. I found out from the news that some retail stores banned the use of spreading Christmas cheer. Thinking back five years ago, I don't recall ever hearing of any religious issues that turned too many heads. Well, maybe more like five to ten years ago. Who knows when this all started? A majority of the United States celebrates. When I worked last week, I didn't want to spark up any religious issues, so I simply wished my customers a happy holiday. I just waited for customers to wish me a glad tiding before I wished them anything. Eh!? Over and done with.
Next topic, I MISS MY BABBLE!!!! It has been 12 days since I saw her last. It has also been 5 days since I've talked to her. And half a day since I received a text message from her. At least I know that she's ok. I am now scared about their extra trip to Thailand. For your information, Sumatra had a 9.0 earthquake, on Christmas morning, that has stirred up tidal waves, or tsunamis, heading in every direction, especially Thailand. Aivy and her family don't go to Thailand for another week, although, I do hope they change their minds. Before, I was just miserable because I was spending Christmas alone, now I'm scared for their lives. -sigh-
This Christmas has accumulated a lot of bad things. The snow in the Mid-West, the 9.0 earthquake in the Indian Ocean, and a few close family interruptions. What is happening? What will happen in 2005? Will I see Aivy again? I pray for her safety. I love her.

Surprising, yet not expected
Some of the weirdest methods for child raising stuns even me. So, this evening, I've become very familiar with the ways of my family and attempting to put us to bed. I also figured out what happens when we're sleeping peacefully in the backseats of the car. The parental units of my family seem to become more in tune with the ways of addictive drugs. I went to my god-sister's house to eat some leftovers from Thanksgiving, twas great. After dinner, we all discuss good 'ol times. It's amazing how much my family can really dislike some others. As I sit listening to them, they speak of family get-togethers over in Novato, where the kids became immune to the horrors of movie thrillers. While under the influence, my parents never noticed their children sneaking out of the back bedrooms to watch Aliens. At 3 or 4 years old, those movies were traumatic, but I seem to love those sci-fi movies now.
- Let's jump ahead twenty-one years later -
My little brother is one of the people I cherish the most in the world. He is growing up to become a talkative, well-mannered rugrat. I find out that his young mind shouldn't see the horrors of horror movies. As kids, my cousins and I weren't limited to what we watched, we turned out all right. So, I say this, should we let youth find out on their own, or shall we set the standards already.
I've been going back and forth between myspace and friendster finding out who really goes on either one. There's nothing else to do online. The first thing I do is go to my Fantasy Basketball league, the Charmane Classic. Next, I go on myspace just to check if I could find something interesting to read. I guess, from the time I got rid of my xanga account, I don't want to read any other xanga sites, trying to escape from the abnormal drama that everybody seems to be running into. I do leave my other 2-cents on myspace blogger, but that's just blabber.
Working at OD has increased my knowledge in the working world. I started off as a fulltimeer from the very beginning. Alonzo, the former manager, started me off as the fulltime department manager for furniture. I guess it was ok, although, I'm still learning the products. I get a discount on any of the items at my store, so if you want anything, just let me know.
Bored bored bored. I'm also sleepy. I can't sleep because if I do, I won't wake up when Babble calls to get picked up. I'm coughing again. That's the bad news in my life. Like I've said before, I'm ALWAYS sick. Hehe. I'm actually laying down on my side typing sideways. Here's some nonsense:
There's a particular person that I've always thought was a friend, but everytime I see this person, I'm outdone by it. Nowadays, I care not how people treat me, but I don't need some things in my life.
My movie star crushes are now Shannyn Sossamon, Elisha Cuthbert, and Alicia Silverstone. Hubba hubba. Haha.
HAPPY 2-Year Anniversary Babble. 10 more days! Can't wait to find out what you have in store. I love you.

Getting Back On My Feet
In just a few days, hopefully tomorrow, I'll be in the working field. Although, after two jobs of delivering, nearly 5 years of physical pain, I'll be in the sales industry. As hard as it is finding a job in the IT/IS field nowadays, it is just as difficult finding a normal, average-joe type of job. In my search for spending and savings, I applied for jobs, such as Department Assistant at Blood Centers of the Pacific, no call back, Strategic Office Solutions, called back interviewed rejected, Washclubsf.com, called back interviewed rejected, Cal Parking, called back interviewed on-call, and Office Depot, called back interviewed accepted. This among others, I have applications sorting through the process of the City and County of San Francisco. Let me just say this, if you're in school and haven't found an intership or co-op, get off your behind and get it. Those things are useful. I should have taken advantage of the opportunity, but I was caught up in other things. No regets now. But telling all those in the engineering/it field, there's a ton of internship positions working for the City and County of SF, SM, SJ, everywhere. Just look! Coming from a guy whose been through the Want Ads, Craigslist, Monster, Hotjobs, walk-ins, etc.
The job that I finally was accepted to was Office Depot. I went in asking for the Technician Assistant which was not even applicable, and came out with a fulltime position sales furniture department. Not very pleasing, but it pays whatever I have to pay for. During my interview, Mr. Duarte was pleased with my performance, and decided to offer me a better job. I didn't want the parttime job, so I accepted any job that was fulltime. Fulltime means more hours, higher pay, company benefits, discounts, and just a step closer to management. With my minor in business management, and my experience as a leader, I could make my life better in ways that I thought I couldn't. It all starts somewhere, right. "My downfall raises me to great heights." - quoted by Vesper, myspace.com
fav. song - Such Great Heights by Postal Service
Last night, Aivy and I went to this music concert last night at Yerba Beuna in SF. Very noisy music I might add. The first piece was interesting. Not much to say about that. By intermission, we made our way to the door and went on home. The most enjoyable part of the concert was the remarks made by Aivy. "Happy happy"

Where is it, I can't stand it. Everyday that passes, I feel more reason to believe that everything is happening for a reason. The suspension, the hockey lockout, my unwillingness to achieve a damn goal. Is it the fact that I'm not getting anywhere because I'm not putting my foot forward. But I do. I do take initiative. I cannot lower my chin in shame, I must do what I must to expand my horizons with life. I cannot lose, I will not lose, I will not be defeated. I have the will, and the way to make things happen. I've done it once, I can do it again and again.

visuals: The Sweetest Thing (2002).
I'm in a place where I haven't been in weeks, maybe months. After over a year of working for a place of aches and pains, I've become even more different from the rest of the drivers. Breaking down the situation, I've become a "wanted" man and I walked right into their trap. Let's rewind and begin this story.
INT grocery wherehouse area
BG forklifts and people speaking loudly
FADE IN
JOEY, 25, continues to walk up ramp, entering the backdoor of the grocery store. While entering, there is a number of people inside the office awaiting the arrival of this prestigious gentleman. Joey walks into the office to find the infamous, let's name them TONY & SONY, lovers of the corporate world. Immediately, I say hello to MARCO, 31, while being asked to spoken to by Sony. They walk to a secluded place to exchange words that will affect Joey, temporarily.
JOEY(calm): What's up!?
SONY: I don't want you to freak out or anything, but we're going to have to suspend you.
JOEY(shocked): Why? What did I do?
SONY: We received a call from customer service that you accepted gratuity from a customer.
Joey jumps back and realizes that what came around finally went around.
SONY: Please sign this. It states that you've been suspended for 3-days without pay. Although, I don't know if you'll be in any financial situations, so I'll pull some strings and see if you could get vacation pay.
FADE OUT
That is why I'm home now.
note: New job here I come!

listening to: Happy Hardcore - Mike Tyson's Punch Out theme
The greatest part about living away from home is simply living away from home. I don't know if some people know what this actually means. It means living dependent solely on your own. I've witnessed a lot of spoiled individuals this past year. Other than my own spoiled self, I can honestly live without the aid of my family. They have their own lives to go on with, and I have my own. Since December 2003, I moved out of my mother's home once again to thrive in my own achievements. Before moving back to San Francisco, in August 2003, I shared a flat with at least four roommates, two being my older brothers. There were times when I thought I wouldn't be able to live on my own, but after witnessing financial struggles, I can take control of the leisures and luxuries in life. Paying bills and rent is the main concern at the end or beginning of each month. I don't ask for money from parents or brothers, I make sure my bank account is balanced and has a legitimate amount of money to last until another pay day. The only assistance that I asked for, since living on my own, was laundry. Every now and then the dirty laundry was washed at the laundrymat around the corner, but sometimes, I don't feel like paying nearly $10 just to do two or three loads, washing and drying. Bottomline, if you plan on living away from home, pretend there is no one out there to help you.
This December is the one year anniversary at the Pacific Heights home. It is also time to move out because the parking situation here is terrible. I think I've accumulated nearly a thousand dollars worth of tickets. Looking at the price of houses to lease in Daly City is cheap compared to San Francisco. Aivy and I plan to move out of this wasp-infested neighborhood. Soon enough, we'll attempt to find a place for Edison, Aivy, and myself somewhere away from the stresses of San Francisco residents. I've looked at craigslist and found this one place with a pool, at the top of one of those hills. It is nice! I'll show it to you when you get home, babble.
I have work on Columbus Day! Blah!
I'm ranked 5,588 out of 3,000,000 players online for Socom 2. Yay!
The LA Dodgers lost against the StL Cardinals. Yay!
I didn't win the Calottery on Saturday night. Blah!
I cleaned my kitchen and bedroom a little. Yay!
Armando Bear is the GREY ONE!
note: Fleet Week came and gone like a jet breaking the sound barrier.
to babble: You are mine, forever! Remember that because I love you. I cherish your existence in my life. My heart is your heart.
Favorite SF Eateries:
- Coriya Hot Pot City (Clement St. b/w 9th & 10th)
- Nagano Sushi (Geary Blvd. b/w Arguello & 1st)
- In 'n Out (Jefferson St. b/w Jones & Leavenworth)
- Hunan Chinese (Divisidero St. b/w Pine & Bush)
- Philly Cheesesteak (Divisidero St. b/w Bush & Sutter)
- Extreme Pizza (Fillmore St. b/w Sutter & Post)
- Safeway (all of them, esp. Geary and Webster)

I was going to write something really interesting, but I totally forgot what the topic was. Bebeh and I were in Ziggy on our ride back home from Marco's birthday, but the "topic" slipped my mind. Well, until next time, be good, take care, and welcome home Bluey. You're still loved even though you're missing a passenger seat. (wiping tears of happiness) Yay Bluey's back!!!!

At the moment...
...hungry.
...missing my bebeh.
...upset that the Giants have been eliminated from the Post Season.
...wondering if the 49ers will tie up this game against the Rams.
...trying to keep myself warm because San Francisco's weather is cold.
...watching my Socom Online rank get better and better.
...figuring out how I'm going to raise money to pay off rent.
...want to rearrange apartment, but it's too cold.
...making Mando dance.
...wiggling my foot.
...determining my future with the presidential election (Vote for Affleck)
...typing out what I'm doing at the moment because I can't figure out what to write about.
...resting my legs because I had a long day at work.
...pondering about joining a union.
...praying for Bebeh's safe ride home.
...reading Ulo's xanga and agreeing with his view, why are Bay Area teams unsuccessful.
...laughing at a commercial where people don't know how to drive.
...digesting my Subway sandwich from earlier.
...hungry.
...SAFETY to Faulk!!!
...rubbing my cold feet.
...reading about the NHL lockout. (Depressing)
...wishing I had more money to spend on useless things.
...waiting for Bebeh to come home.
...getting sleepy.
note: Go... I don't know which team to support. 49ers!!!!

Giants still have a chance for the Wild Card. Astros must lose today or tomorrow while the Giants MUST win tomorrow. I can't believe the upset. Anyway, I can't let sports, such as baseball, let me down. I have to support the National Hockey League. The season must stay alive, or else I'll have nothing to support except the struggling, 'rookie' 49er team.
I've been a serious Giants fan for the past five seasons. During the middle of the
2000 season, I would get home from classes and hear RJ screaming for the Giants to win. Game after game, my interest grew while the NHL season took the majority of my excitement. By the 2001 season, I was watching each game with my roommates at 502, rooting for Barry Bonds, Jeff Kent, Rob Nen, etc. The 2002 season was the most incredible because they made it all the way to the World Series. That series was the most memorable for me because I stayed with them from game one of the post season. Unfortunately, they lost in Game 6 against Alfred's team, Anaheim Angels. So, grief during these games won't compare to that World Series loss. Giants are #1.

Socks have been washed!
Every Wednesday and Thursday are my days off. I've constantly tried to get my Friday and Saturdays off, but I've been unsuccessful. Luckily, my weekends are no longer full time. Yay! The only disadvantage is my low paycheck. Fortunately, this Sunday, at 6pm, Bebeh and I will be in San Jose. We were watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air earlier, and during the commercial, our eyes lit up with excitement. We immediately called the toll-free number and found out the website where we could further our search. In little time, we purchased tickets online, printed the tickets out and posted them on the refrigerator. At the American Conservatory Theatre, the Broadway show, Rent, will have their last show in the area on Sunday at 6pm. The last time we saw Rent was in New York, two summers ago. Can't wait to sit in Row 21, Seats 58 & 60. If anyone wants to go, hit up the website www.amtsj.org and let us know if you're going. Yay!
note: Yay Rent! again.

Good morning, Blogger! You've been neglected.
Babble is awake. I moved the car and you still didn't notice I was gone. You must've been really tired. You are now telling me another one of your surreal dreams. By the way, we got another parking ticket. There was street cleaning between six and eight this morning. Phooey!
My work life is getting to the point where I'm ready to find a better job where the pay is four times as much as I make now. Ha! Well, lately, I've been training a bunch of drivers. Carlos, Claudio, Steve, and John have no knowledge of the San Francisco area. The streets are easy to find on a Thomas guide, but the one-ways are extremely high in San Francisco. I'm positive that any new drivers delivering to the financial district will start at 10am and finish about 5pm. The well-trained driver, like myself, could start the same route, at the same time, and finish three hours before them. My point is that our area manager, Sheryl, ruins my day because I'm finishing up my route early hoping that the others are done too. Unfortunately, I call their phones and find out they have 5 or 6 deliveries left. My supervisors don't get along, the drivers don't respect the supervisors, the store managers don't distribute enough hours to the shoppers leaving the drivers to "volunteer" to load our own trucks. In training, we're told the shoppers are to load our trucks in the mornings and while we're at lunch. I haven't clocked out for lunch in almost three weeks. Although, that doesn't stop me from having a lunch. The advantage toward the increase of "milked" hours is that my paycheck is just a little higher than the average.
Disadvantages exceed advantages.
(1) Limits the time I get to spend with my Babble.
(2) My body doesn't have enough time to recuperate for the next day.
(3) Dinner doesn't exist.
(4) Too tired to get anything done at the apartment.
Anyway
During the past few weeks, Babble and I have been trying to maximize the time spent with one another. We went to D&B's for Ted and Paulo's birthday. Fun stuff. The drive home with Babble was great though. I love you Badabbly bear. Can't wait to see what happens next.
note: Dear journal, I love bebeh.

So you've finally discovered the term of "milking the clock"! Today, I went to work and found myself sweating like crazy. It's that drenchy-type of feeling when you jump into a filthy lake. You know the water is disgusting and dirty, but the feeling of comfort and relief once your skin touches that crisp water, ode to joy. In other words, the weather was blackening my skin once again. Every morning, I forget to put on sunblock or what not, and I go prancing out the door like a dummy. At least I lower my head when I work, or else my face would be pitch black already. A couple weeks ago, Aivy's sister comments about how dark I am. I didn't really say anything, I just sat there and ate my oxtail.
This summer has been the summer of food. More like, the summer of sushi because sushi is in my blood and sweat now. I suppose we could eat something else, but nothing else please's my urge for rolled up rice with, oh must I say it, bbq eel. To this day, I think I've eaten enough sushi/japanese food to last me until the age of 30. -sigh- I want sushi now. When I was in San Diego last week, I ordered this sushi dish called the Kitchen Sink. I forgot what it was, but it was very good. The strange name meant that it would take longer to make since they took forever to make it. It was worth the wait.
Speaking of San Diego, Aivy and I went on a short vacation down to Southern California. I've never been past certain areas down in Los Angeles, so I was eager to find myself awake during most of the trip. First off, the drive down to LA and straight to San Diego took no more than four and a half hours. You can find photos of our trip on Aivy's page. It was a good getaway of sort. The hotel room was splendid, the area where we stayed in San Diego was clean. I want to go back. The best part about the trip was going on another trip with someone I love. I know, how cheesy. It's true. Can't wait for another trip, when we have the money.

I've been preoccupied with my addiction with Socom 2 online. Although, Aivy and I will be heading out to the Southern regions of California. We hope to leave after work on Tuesday evening and be back by early Saturday morning. I'm able to call in sick for one day, but two days is stretching it. The trip consists of Los Angeles and San Diego. We haven't been out of the city since last summer. I think its about time to head out and explore something new.
I finally found the solution to my router problems. My first router purchase was from the brand name D-Link, which didn't work after how many times I installed and configured the network. Eventually, Aivy and I made our "weekly" trip to Best Buy, where we exchanged the crappy D-Link router for the infamous Link-Sys technology. After the second installation/configuration, BINGO!, it works. Now, Aivy can go online, while I play my online games (OK! Socom, Go Barrelman).
The idea of buying a house in the Redwood Shores area has come up. That place is like my dream location, mainly because of the water ways that come up around the neighborhood. Listening and waking up to the flow of water is soothing, like living on a house boat. Have any of you seen the preview for that new movie where two scuba divers are stuck in the middle of the water? If I had a boat, I would look for them, but I'm not much of a sailor.
Speaking of movies, I haven't witnessed a summer with so many good movies. I don't know what it is, but hey, they're great. Let's name a few: Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle...oh wait, that's all I can say. I must say, it was a great movie. I do want to see a bunch of other movies, I just can't think of them right now. I had a date for the Harold & Kumar movie, her name is Bebeh.
note: Does anyone sit at home alone and talk to their teddybears anymore?

Today
Woke up and held Aivy and listened to her and played socom 2 online while aivy looked at offline websites and then got up to go eat but first went to go pay rent over on noriega and deposit some money at wamu so i have enough to pay rent and then went to the post office so i can mail my cell phone bill which led us all the way back to eat at yuen lee's over on broadway and stockton where we ate mostly seafood and rice although we had to pay for parking because there was none around fortunately aivy bought some pocky covered with chocolate almond & strawberry cream for me until we got back to the car and went to get pedicures near our apartment.
-pedicure- felt good, my feet are soft, my toenails are smooth. i think the lady massaging my legs with lotion tried to look at my nuts. Yikes!
Joey's Embarrassing Moments: (Leaving an Akbayan cabinet meeting at the modules while the African American Commencement Committee is next door)
Joey: "Don't even trip Ted, I'm black...from the waist down."
Ted: "Dude, do you know who's next door?"
Joey shocked.

note: Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle - MUST SEE!!!
It's been said that some movies are justified unless you watch while under the influence of a certain herb. The movie was hilarious. I can't wait for the dvd to come out. My favorite line:
Kumar: Come on, Dad...
Kumar's Dad: Daddy isn't coming on anything!
The empty, 254 seater, theater is surrounded with a roar of laughter.
I had no idea White Castle was a restaurant on the east coast. I don't really want to try it, but I would like a #2 at In 'N Out with a vanilla milkshake and well-done french fries. Well, not necessarily this instance, but the next movie I'll most likely see is Collateral with Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise. FREE SCREENING.
This summer's movies haven't been this great in such a long time. Going back to the topic of smoking marijuana, I've never done it, but I've second-handed the hemp many times. Especially that one night in my Valley West apartment, the air was filled completely with a smell that I'll never forget. Just another reason why I don't want to put myself in the shoes of a drug entertainer. Shoot! I enjoy being an audience.
Movies that people say you should be 'high' while watching:
Dazed and Confused
Half-Baked
Dude, Where's my Car?
Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
Mallrats, Clerks, Dogma, etc.

Looking at my times at the e-dub house, defining what a positive night would be between us, we find ourselves wrapped up in a memory that was once there, but will always be there. The presence of your touch has once again tingled with great delight. The smell I once inhaled is soothing my lungs with tenderness. Seeing the smile of your neverending glow has surrounded your presence more than ever. The emotions of understanding one another's thoughts is in our destiny. You are my future. Before I had let the feelings fade purposely because I didn't know what was willing to be kept. Now I know everything is worth the unconditional feeling we have, had, and will always have toward each other. Loving you is what I meant the first time spoken, love is why it hurts so much, love is why we care, love has true meaning in our lives.
-dedicated to my girlfriend, Aivy
Tonight was never expected to turn out the way it did. With the thought that a network cable was supposedly the high point of the night, the apetite between Aivy and I grew. We wanted some burritos, but we couldn't find parking. So, on we went to find a new place to feed our quench. Suddenly, Aivy brought up Hahn's Hibachi. I knew there was one on Polk Street, so I wanted to try and surprise her. Unfortunately, parking was once again destroying our motivation to have a successful evening. After 30-minutes of searching, we found a parking lot that only asked $10 until 2am. Finally, we found a Tapioca Express type of place that quenched our thirst needs. About a block down, we found a delicious Hunan & Mandarin restaurant. Yummy. We still have some if you want to try. Departing our dinner venue, we walked hand-in-hand up Polk Street to a few other stores.
The whole evening was amazingly special. After being together for so many months, we found the glow fade, but tonight, I knew that the glow had never ceased. I love Aivy, and she loves me. You never understand someone completely until you go through the struggles of the extremes - happiness, madness, sadness, and grief. I cherish every moment with you Babble. We may not say every single day, but we know, deep down inside, that we were made for one another. I'm getting all giddy just saying all this stuff. You make me giddy. The way you are is what I want. Nothing more, nothing less. But, if you can offer more, bring it out. (its been already brought'n)

First and foremost, happy birthday and best wishes on his 21st birthday, Chris B. Sorry I couldn't be there this evening. I hope you didn't get too wasted. As for me, the evening went well. The DSL is finally up and running - Socom 2 revival day. I washed television and read a story that my friend, Yumi, linked to me. Here's the link. I read the whole story in one sitting. I'm not really sure how I feel about it. It is romantic, yet it defines love on a much stronger scale. -sigh & shrugs- I just don't know. Mina.

Last Thursday was the moment of Fatal Frame truth. I was able to beat the game in about 1o hours. I plan on re-playing the game again and again so I can see the concluding ending AND alternate ending. I also want to see Mayu dressed in leather and glasses. -drool- I'm going to try and go through the game in half the time now. It shouldn't take that long since I don't really need to beat any monsters. I've upgraded my camera to the fullest. I just need to find the additional lenses. Ok...enough of my video game nerdiness.
While walking home from work, I thought my life had become so isolated within my own confined space. I'm at an all-time low of socializing. The only thing I enjoy doing is getting home and playing video games or watching television. Will it ever change? There are the enjoyable times when Aivy and I are just sitting around the apartment lounging and relaxing. Honestly, I want to visit the homies in San Jose, it's just too far. I guess I've become a lazy person. -sigh-
Ulo- I trust you...seriously!
I saw Dodgeball with Edcay. The movie was hilarious. Edison commented about the "lesbian" part and the fact that the whole movie, we were curious about the couple of females sitting to the left of us. We wondered if they were lesbians...we were right. The next few movies that I plan on watching, with whoever wants to go, are Bourne Supremacy, I Robot, Resident Evil: Apocalypse (September), and The Village. Gosh! I love Summer movies. It's weird how the person who was my friend when I was 10 is my closest friend when I'm 25. I look forward to moving in with Edison, Aivy, and possibly Charles. Oh damn! Video Games galore.
SBC DSL on July 27th, 2004! Woohoo! Socom 2 Online & NHL2004 Online. Barrelman's coming back!
note: I'm the middleman - my ears are always open to listen.

Tonight, I sit in my apartment wondering where my life is leading. I honestly tried to apply for this one job that I found on craigslist, unfortunately, I couldn't find my resume and cover letter. This totally sucks.
I'm scanning through my mp3's on the disks. I finished all my chocolate fudge stuff. I'm attempting to clean up for the past couple of days, but I keep getting lazy. I really wanted to watch Dodgeball at the Coronet, here in San Francisco, but the stupid phone was all distorted from dust malfunctions and the phoneguy had to come in. The furniture all had to be moved because Mr. Leroy, the SBC Guy, had to get to the phone jacks. Although, he did install new phone jacks, costing $55 to my next phonebill. Goodness. I could have done it myself. Blah.
I watch Will & Grace and be bored. If I didn't have work tomorrow, I would have went to Aris and Albert's house party. -sigh- I want to die. My life is at a halt.
